Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Lavinia Craft ("we", "us") is operated by an independent artisan based in New Jersey, United States, selling handmade furniture as a sole proprietor. This policy explains what information the website laviniacraft.com collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what running a made-to-order furniture business requires, we do not sell your personal information, and nothing non-essential runs in your browser without your consent.
What we collect
- Order and quote requests. Name, email address, phone number (optional), shipping details and the specifics of the piece you ask for. We use these to answer you, prepare a quote and build and deliver your order.
- Customer accounts. Email, name and an encrypted password if you create an account to follow your order thread and wishlist.
- Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe. Every email includes an unsubscribe link (CAN-SPAM). Subscriptions are managed through Klaviyo (see below).
- Messages. Anything you write to us through the contact form or an order thread, including photos we exchange during a build.
- Page statistics. We count page views with our own first-party system. It sets no cookies and builds no advertising profile — it tells us which pieces people look at, nothing more.
We do not process payments on this website. Orders are settled by invoice; your card details never touch our servers.
Service providers
A small number of processors handle data on our behalf, each only for its job:
- Brevo — sends transactional email (order confirmations, order updates, password resets).
- Klaviyo — runs our newsletter and onsite sign-up offers. Its script loads only after you allow the Marketing category in the cookie banner.
- MongoDB Atlas — hosts our database in the United States.
- Etsy — product pages may link to our Etsy shop; shop reviews shown on this site are retrieved through the Etsy API. Etsy's own privacy policy governs what happens on etsy.com.
- YouTube — some product videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); YouTube may still set cookies when you press play.
We share personal information with no one else, and we do not sell it — to anyone, for any purpose.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies keep your sign-in session and your cookie choice; your cart lives in your own browser's storage. Marketing cookies (Klaviyo) are set only with your consent. Details, names and lifetimes are in the Cookie Policy, and you can change your mind any time via "Cookie Preferences" in the footer.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — use the contact page and we will respond within 30 days. California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information: we sell nothing, and disabling the Marketing category in Your Privacy Choices switches off the only sharing-like processing on the site. New Jersey residents have comparable rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act. We honor all such requests regardless of your state.
Retention
Order records are kept as long as tax law requires us to keep business records. Accounts live until you delete them or ask us to. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept while the conversation is live and pruned periodically after.
Children
This site sells furniture and is not directed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and adjust the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
Questions about this page or your data? Reach us through the contact page — the people who build the furniture also answer the email.
