Welcome to laviniacraft.com, operated by an independent artisan based in New Jersey, United States ("Lavinia Craft", "we"). By using this site or placing an order request you agree to these terms.

How ordering works

This is a workshop, not a warehouse. Purchases are completed through our Etsy shop: the "Order on Etsy" button opens the listing with your chosen options, and payment, checkout and buyer protection are handled by Etsy under its own terms. Custom commissions requested through this site work by quote — we confirm the specification, price and lead time, and the commission becomes binding when you approve it and the invoice we send is paid.

Prices shown are starting prices in US dollars and depend on the size and options you choose. Applicable sales tax, where required by law, is stated on the invoice. We sell and ship within the United States only.

Made-to-order pieces

Most pieces are built for you after you order. Natural wood varies: grain, colour and live-edge shape will differ from photographs — that is the point of a handmade piece, not a defect. Dimensions may vary within workshop tolerance (about ±1%). During the build we share progress photos; where a design decision is needed we ask before proceeding.

Shipping, damage and returns

Shipping terms, the damage-claim window and the return policy are set out in Shipping & Returns, which forms part of these terms. In short: free insured shipping is included (US, Canada, UK and most of Europe via our Etsy shop), orders may be cancelled free within 1 hour of purchase, transit damage must be reported with photos within 48 hours of delivery, and returns are accepted within 14 days in original condition with the buyer covering return shipping — defects are always made right by us.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts used abusively or fraudulently.

Our content

Photographs, text and designs on this site are our work (customer review photos belong to their authors). You may not reproduce them commercially without written permission. "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.; this site uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing affects the manufacturer-defect promise in our return policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts of New Jersey, and both sides will try good-faith resolution before going there.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above tells you when. Orders are governed by the terms in force when the order was confirmed.
