Solid walnut furniture
Every table leaves our workshop with a hand-rubbed hardwax oil finish — breathable, food-safe and repairable for life. Cared for the simple way, a solid walnut piece genuinely outlives its owner.
Daily cleaning
Wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it immediately. That is the whole routine — no polish, no special product.
Avoid silicone sprays and all-purpose cleaners. They leave a film that builds up over months and dulls the natural sheen of the oil finish.
Spills, heat and water rings
An oiled surface shrugs off everyday spills — wine, coffee, sauce — as long as they are wiped within a few minutes.
Heat and standing moisture are the two things to respect: use trivets under hot pans and coasters under sweating glasses. Repeated heat rings are the one mark every wooden table remembers.
The once-a-year refresh
Once a year, rub a thin coat of hardwax oil into the surface with a lint-free cloth. Wait twenty minutes, then buff off the excess with a clean cloth.
The surface comes back like day one. This is the quiet superpower of an oiled finish over lacquer — it never needs stripping, only feeding. We include oil recommendations with every furniture delivery.
Scratches and dents
Light scratches disappear with a gentle sanding — 240 grit, always with the grain — followed by a drop of oil rubbed in and buffed off.
For deeper dents or damage, email us a photo. We will walk you through the fix step by step, or arrange a repair if it needs workshop hands.
Sunlight and seasons
Walnut mellows to a lighter, warmer tone in direct sun. Rotate trays and décor occasionally so the surface ages evenly.
Keep pieces away from heating vents and radiators — solid wood prefers stable humidity. A room comfortable for you is comfortable for the table.
